A United Kingdom

Another in a line-up of anticipated true life stories billed for 2016. It a 'middle-England' film at heart which peddle African sensibilities. Acting on part of David Oyelowo and Rosamund Pike without question; it rather the characterisations and African aspects of the story that I found lacking. Well produced period drama that would sit well on the small screen and certainly would not offend English sensibilities. It rather the African side of the story that leave me bored. Set design clever but it lacked 'shine'.Less engaged with the African scenarios than the English ones. Strength of the film fact it based on true life events and its acting talent. Entirely plausible film, I just did not find it engaging.
