Remarkable piece in which Director Kenneth Lonergan speak the language of cinema so fluently and clearly. At first film start off as a narrative which promise nothing; but as we go further into the storyline its complexities become unravelled and we exposed to the human vulnerabilities that lie at its core. Our central protagonist 'loser' Lee Chandler (Cassey Affleck) carry the story; his adult life failings laid bare in parallel to him fighting to 'man up' as the guardian of his nephew. His human foibles and attempts to put his life right without pretense what make the film so engaging. Notable that the Director chose to set this piece in the New England Community of Manchester-by-Sea which add another rich dimension to the story. The landscape and changes of seasons in parallel with the character development.
