Over the course of my 20-year film career I have written film copy, marketing materials, press releases and reviews about the cinema of the African diaspora. In 2014, I released ‘The Nigerian Filmmaker’s Guide to Success: BEYOND NOLLYWOOD’. The book anticipated the cross over potential of new wave Nigerian cinema.
I am delighted to announce the release of ‘Cinéma Africain: Archiving, Resistance and Freedom’ (7 November 2025) edited by myself and filmmaker Sandra Krampelhuber. The anthology – the first of its kind – highlights the richness of African and diasporic storytelling in film. The publication includes 7 contributions which include interviews, critical reflections, academic analyses, personal narratives and creative explorations.
Below is a selection of pieces I have written in recent years.
